Day 12 – In the morning, Galstaun College Year 10 and 11 students checked out of their hotel in Yerevan to carry out the next stage of their pilgrimage and travel to Artsakh. The seven-hour ride included a stop for lunch and visits to the Dadivank Monastery (aka Khutavank) in the Shahumyan District and the Gandzasar Monastery in the Mardakert District of Artsakh Republic. Students were guided and blessed by the priests of both monasteries. Students arrived at their Hotel in Stepanakert at 6:30 pm. Dinner was served at the hotel during which Galstaun College hosted Nelly Ghulyan (principal of ARS Sosse Kindergarten whose husband Bekor Ashot was given the Golden Eagle Medal after his martyrdom in the Artsakh war) and Seta Poghosyan-Harutyunyan who is in charge of the ARS office in Stepanakert, whose three sons currently serve the Army of the Artsakh Republic). They both shared their experiences and challenges as mothers of young children during the war.
