The Galstaun College Board of Management oversee and manage the business aspects of the College.

This includes:

  • Infrastructure project funding and execution;
  • The College’s financial management;
  • Marketing programs; and
  • General strategic planning with the College Executive.

The overall goal of the Board is to support the Principal and the College Executive deliver on the desired educational and social outcomes for students.

Hratch Boghossian

Hratch Boghossian joined the Galstaun College Board in 2016. Harry has three children attending Galstaun College. He has been an active member of the community for over 30 years through Homenetmen soccer, basketball, scouts, Armenian dance and committee work. He has a Bachelor of Commerce and Applied Finance (Actuarial). He has been working in the finance industry for over 15 years and is currently working at a global investment bank in Sydney.


Harmick Hacobian OAM

Harmick Hacobian joined the Galstaun College Board in 2011 and has been the Vice Chairman since. In 2010, he was appointed to head the College’s Community Relations Committee and he was also involved in the establishment of the College as the Hamazkaine Shant Chapter’s Representative to the Board. He was the partner and director, heading the marketing, of one of Australia’s largest privately owned lighting wholesalers, Indirect Lighting Pty Ltd. Harmick’s role in the Australian-Armenian community spans over 40 years. His most significant achievements were the establishment of the Armenian Chamber of Commerce in Australia (ACCA) in 1997 and, in 2000, he formed the Hamazkaine Armenian Sydney Dance Company (ASDC), that has been the longest continuously running dance group in the Sydney community. He chaired the ACCA for 10 years and continues to chair the ASDC Board to this day. In 2013, he was awarded the Medal for the Order of Australia for his hard work and dedication to the community.


Ara Vartoukian OAM

Ara Vartoukian joined the Galstaun College Board as secretary in 2002. Both his children graduated from Galstaun College and have completed their education at university. Ara’s mother was on the original Board of Management when the College commenced. Ara has been running his company, Theme and Variations Piano Services, a reputable and well-respected company, for over 30 years. Prior to starting his company, he had been the youngest full-time teacher at the Conservatorium of Music. His Australian-Armenian community work involved conducting the Hamazkaine Komidas choir for over 25 years, giving regular concerts.


Roupen Sevagian

Roupen Sevagian joined the Galstaun College Board in 2013. Roupen has a daughter attending Galstaun College. He completed his primary education at Galstaun College. He has a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting, and is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia. He has worked at one of the Big 4 accounting firms for a number of years, both in Australia and the United States of America. He is currently working in finance for an ASX50 company in the oil and gas industry. Roupen has been involved in the Australian-Armenian community from a very young age, participating in cultural, community and sporting activities.


Vache H. Kahramanian

Vache H. Kahramanian joined the Board of Management of Galstaun College in 2016. Vache has a daughter attending Galstaun College. He currently serves as the general manager of a large retail business along side running his own private investment fund. He has held the position of Executive Director of the Armenian National Committee of Australia from 2012-2015 and has served on its national board for over 10 years. Prior to that, he has held high level corporate positions in the finance industry. Vache holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology, Sydney and a Graduate Diploma in International Law and International Relations from the University of New South Wales. He also is a qualified Certified Practising Accountant (CPA).


Raffi Pailagian

Raffi Pailagian joined the Board in 2017. Raffi has three children attending Galstaun College in primary, and has been active member of the community for over 30 years through Homenetmen basketball, scouts and committee work. Raffi has a Masters of Business Administration (MBA), a Bachelor of Science (Genetics & Biochemistry) and a Diploma of Financial Planning. Raffi works in the Financial Planning and Investment Management industry as a partner of a firm that he established in 2000 in the Northern Beaches of Sydney.


Niree Nadjarian

Niree Nadjarian joined the Board in 2018. Niree has three children attending Galstaun College, and was a primary teacher at Galstaun College herself from 1998 to 2016. Niree graduated from Sydney University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Teaching. She has also undergone extensive further training in Primary Teaching. Niree is a full time teacher at John Colet School.
