Primary School at Galstaun College is from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6 and is the completion of Stage Three.

Our Primary School program at Galstaun College starts from Pre-Kindergarten for children 4 years of age. This early entry into the learning journey for children introduces them to the foundations of literacy and numeracy and follows an interactive and play based program. Our Primary program provides the foundations for students to be effective learners as well as the capacity for them to develop character traits that will hold them in good stead for life.

Students in Primary follow the National Curriculum as well as a blend of co-curricular programs and activities to achieve a balanced education.

Our students continue through the mandatory curriculum from Kindergarten to Year 6 which sees the completion of Stage Three.

In Primary, emphasis is placed on literacy and numeracy and students are provided with a rich and diverse curriculum where they are given every opportunity to develop and succeed. Our small class sizes provide a safe and dynamic learning environment where every student is given individual care and attention.

In Year 6, students are taught by specialised teachers who assist with their transition to High School and extend students in Key Learning Areas. We recognise that these formative years are the most important in every child’s development and, as such, we endeavour to provide a happy and stimulating environment. We understand the unique nature of each child and encourage students to be strong, critical thinkers and independent learners.

Galstaun students have access to a technology-rich environment with interactive whiteboards and wi-fi enabled classrooms. Students from Pre-Kindergarten have access to iPads.

Students have access to a range of specialist facilities in Primary School including library, science laboratories, art rooms and more.
